10 Week Checkup

We visited our OB this morning for our second monthly checkup.  The testing I though might take place didn’t happen, which is great!  The doc told us that with our medical history and age, there’s very little risk of anything and testing is superfluous.  When he tried to locate and let us hear our babys heartbeat via doppler, there was a moment of WTF when he simply couldn’t find it.  ”No worries” he told us, “we’ll cheat and use ultrasound”.  Bonus for us…we not only heard our babys heart for the first time today, but we got another ultrasound pic out of it!  

Lots of parents get excited with hearing the first heartbeat, but for me it was the face.  I was looking at a moving image of the child I’ll get to meet in 7 more months.  And moving it was!  Baby was waaaay at the back of Tori’s uterus (hence the trouble locating heartbeat with doppler), but it was groovin’ back there!  Almost certainly a sign that  our little one will be a spinner.
