That New House Smell

January 26th, 2008

The movers arrived at noon, and within 2 hours (most) all of our worldly goods were at the new house. (w00t! first post at new house) T is achingly sick, as she has been for a few days. Really nasty virus, it seems. After moving 4 times in the past seven years, we settle in pretty rapidly, and I expect to feel “at home” within the week.

The house doesn’t have a new-house smell, though. Probably because it’s quite an old house. Or because I made that up.

I’ll have to pick up a “new house scent” dangly tree for you on my next trip to 7/11. You can hang it over your window. Maybe it can double as a dream catcher. Maybe I can find a dream catcher that smells like new house.

I already have a house shaped like a dream catcher that smells like trees!
